Our focus

dots mainly develops software solutions for production printing with digital printing systems. A key focus of the development is the submission of print data to central print facilities. dots software products are almost 100 % made in Berlin, this means besides the software development itself also the user interface design and prototyping, English, French and German localization, testing and quality assurance, technical writing, packaging is done by dots colleagues. This allows for speedy, iterative development and simultaneous Quality Assurance and documentation.

Our software solution provides efficient prepress, automation & collaboration and web-to-print functionalitiy for print rooms.

It is optimized for the use in print rooms of public authorities, universities and coporations as well as for print service providers offering their services to business clients (B2B).

Where we came from

We don't belong to what is called “Berlins start-up scene”. Why not? Well, dots was founded more than 19 years ago. We kept, however, our start-up spirit alive and, even better, combined it with 95 years of expericence, continous development, permanent user feedback and, since 2005, the backup of a global corporation.

 

1997   Foundation of dots Software GmbH

2000   Invention of intranet print job submission with Job Ticket technology (jtman)

2002   First dots web-to-print solution (jtweb)

2005   Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe acquires 75% of the shares of dots

2007   JT Man and JT Web are taken into the umbrella naming of Printgroove

2008   dots becomes a fully-owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe 

2010   Change in technology: PDF replaces DPML
